Overcoming "Some Days" with God's Word

Some days, I don't feel like doing the dishes, making my bed, taking out the dog, or picking up the house. Some evenings, I am too tired to want to brush my teeth before bed. Even though some days I don't feel like taking care of household chores, my dog, or even myself, I still love a clean house, a happy dog, and good dental hygiene.
Many days, it takes discipline to get up and read the Word of the Lord. Often, I don't feel like reading the Word. I feel like doing the easy thing and scrolling through my phone. But every time—not just some days—I spend time in God's Word, I can hear His voice and know the direction of my life.
"When I wander in the wilderness, wondering if I should turn left or right, I realize I have not been in God's Word. I have not been in holy Scripture, which directs me to the abundant life that Jesus came, died, and rose again to give me. Instead, I have spent more time in the world than focusing on my eternal destination."
Scripture References:
Hebrews 4:12 - "For the Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."
Joshua 1:8 - "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous."
Some days, the fulfillment from Scripture doesn't come immediately. The only time Scripture does not fulfill me is when I do not enter into the Word of God. I encourage everyone to move beyond their "some days" and make it "no days" without the Word of the Lord. Every day, be in Scripture so God can fulfill you, and you can hear His promise for your life.
Scripture Reference:
John 1:1-3 - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him, nothing was made that has been made."
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. If we take that Scripture to heart and understand that the Word means Jesus, we will run to the Word to spend time with our Savior, Redeemer, and soon-coming King.
Scripture Reference:
John 1:14 - "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."
I want to know You more, Jesus, not less. So help me, Lord, not to keep away from You in my "some days," and please keep me in Your Word all my days. Amen.
Conclusion
Dear Wonderous Women of God, let's commit to overcoming our "some days" by being in God's Word daily. When we prioritize spending time in Scripture, we invite Jesus into our lives more profoundly. Just as we enjoy the benefits of a clean house and good self-care, we will experience the profound blessings of a life grounded in His Word.
Scripture to Reflect On:
Psalm 119:105 - "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."
2 Timothy 3:16-17 - "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Remember, the Word of God is not just a book; it's a living testament to His love, guidance, and promises. As we navigate our daily lives, let His Word be our constant companion and guide.
May we all find strength and encouragement in the presence of God through His Holy Scriptures, today and always. Amen.
